During a short weekend trip to Sentul area in Bogor-West Java, I stumbled upon this incredible spot. It’s a spot of short-staycation and fishing getaway, a great way to escape from the routine. I happen to enjoy fishing, and I think this spot is perfect for those who can enjoy it. Even if you’re not a fan of fishing, I think the spot is also a great place to gather with family, friends, and nature enthusiasts.
Full facilities with a calm, peaceful, and comfortable atmosphere
This place is called New Panjang Jiwo Resto Fishing & Resort. It is located at Jl. Babakan Tumas No. 9, Cikeas Village, Sukaraja, Bogor Regency, West-Java. You can get easy access via Jagorawi Toll Road, then exit at the South Sentul Toll Gate. This Sharia-compliant fishing resort offers a serene rural atmosphere. Facilities include hotel accommodation and villas, prayer room, joglo-style restaurant, swimming pool, an open outbound area, three of large natural fishing lake popular with families, fishing gear and bait rentals, and the spacious parking.
The shady, quiet, and comfortable resort located in a relatively remote rural setting in Cikeas-Sentul Village, Bogor. However, it is easily accessible through the excellent road access. The location is far enough from the hustle of the cities and the noise of traffic, allowing visitors to enjoy their activities in comfort and temporarily forget about the routines of life or work.

Given its strategic location, this resort offers a wide range of activities. These include short staycations, fishing sport, outbound, rafting, swimming, family gatherings, company meeting, or even social gatherings and birthday parties. They can also provide sound-system for large family events so that it can run effectively.
Before arriving at the resort, you’ll pass by popular spots in South Sentul like Aeon Mall, IKEA Furniture, and several restaurants and resorts nearby. You can do shopping at these places before or after doing activities at this resort. So, in addition to on-site activities, there are plenty of other activities to choose from.
The spacious and comfortable natural fishing lake
The resort area features three small lakes serving as expansive natural fishing grounds. Each lake surrounded by huts or pavilion where families could gather to chat and sharing meals. Don’t worry about fishing equipment, as the resort rents complete equipment and bait for fishing in these lakes.
Furthermore, your catch can be delivered directly to kitchen room to be cooked and consumed immediately. As for lunch, for example. The fish is naturally fresh, and when accompanied with salads and chili sauce it must be incredibly delicious. The fish caught are primarily freshwater lake fish, such as carp (mas), tilapia (nila), pompano (bawal), and catfish (patin).

Why is this place so interesting to visit?
As the locals of Jakarta or other surrounding areas and considering that people always filled with hustle and bustle of routine, this place is like an oasis. A place to escape from busy schedule or diversion from hustle of the city to a peaceful rural setting. Especially if you were as a fishing fans, this place could be an angler’s paradise. However, the place is also ideal for a short staycation due to the complete facilities and proximity to Jakarta and its surrounding cities.
Even if you only plan a one-day staycation, you can still get a valuable experience here. You depart early in the morning and without prior reservations. Upon arrival, you can immediately start fishing, but you won’t be able to use the huts (pavilion) provided, as they are only allowed with prior reservations. You could be fishing around the lakeside and have lunch at the restaurant.
