Result of a series of curation
These Top 50 Best Tourist Villages in Indonesia are the result of a series of curation efforts conducted by the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the 2021 Tourism Village Award (ADWI). A total of 1,831 registered tourist villages were curated by a Board of Curators and Judges, resulting in 300 Tourist Villages. These were then narrowed down to the Top 100 Tourist Villages, and the Top 50 Best Tourist Villages in Indonesia were selected. The selection was based on the Board of Curators’ assessment of seven assessment categories, the classification of tourist villages, and the completeness of data provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.
